Ingredients

Soften, fold, and refreeze — no churning. Let the ice cream soften just enough to stir so you can fold in the Cool Whip and crushed Oreos without melting it. Leave some cookie in big chunks for texture, then refreeze until firm.

Easier, if you like

  • It's already the shortcut — three things, one bowl.
  • Swirl in a little chocolate or caramel sauce as you spread it into the container.

Method

    Cook's notes

Soften, don't melt — fully melted ice cream refreezes icy. You just want it soft enough to stir.

Any sandwich cookie works; mint Oreos make a fun variation.

Let it sit a couple of minutes out of the freezer before scooping.

A true low-effort crowd dessert — stretch one tub of ice cream into a party's worth.

Vegetarian as written; gluten-free with a swap

Gluten-free: use gluten-free sandwich cookies and check that the ice cream and topping are GF.

Dairy-free: use a non-dairy ice cream and whipped topping.
